Ariel is currently completing her articles at Pringle Law, where she focuses exclusively on criminal defence. She assists people facing charges under the Criminal Code and other federal and provincial offences.
Early in law school, Ariel knew she wanted to practise criminal defence. To this end, she took many specialized courses in criminal law. For her work in the Advocacy course, Ariel was awarded the Norman J. Pollock, K.C. Prize in Advocacy.
During law school, Ariel worked with Student Legal Services as a Dayleader with the Criminal Law Project and the Legal Education and Reform Project. At the Criminal Law Project, she represented low-income individuals charged with summary offences, preparing matters for trial, negotiating with Crown Prosecutors, and drafting Charter notices and a constitutional challenge. At the Legal Education and Reform Project, she attended drop-in centres in the downtown core and provided free legal information to people who might otherwise have difficulty accessing legal services.
Before attending law school, Ariel worked in housing research, contributing to a project focused on permanent supportive housing and helping facilitate workshops on accessible and affordable housing. Her experience working with people facing complex legal and social challenges has shaped her approach to advocating for clients.
Being charged criminally is stressful and overwhelming. Ariel is sensitive to the many ways criminal charges can affect your life, and is here to help you navigate what can be a complicated system. Ariel is committed to advocating for your rights in the legal process and to providing thoughtful, dedicated representation.
